The Challenge

Vanderburgh Humane Society faced a growing challenge—too many dogs in their shelter and not enough adoptions. Despite their efforts, potential adopters weren’t fully aware of the urgent need or the impact they could have by choosing adoption. VHS needed a campaign that not only highlighted the overfill crisis but also made a personal connection with the community to inspire action.

The Campaign

With full creative freedom, Captivated Content developed a two-part campaign designed to emotionally connect with potential adopters. VHS put us in contact with the right people, and from there, we handled the rest—crafting a compelling narrative that would drive action.

The first piece followed a local adopter who shared their experience bringing a VHS dog into their home—showcasing the joy, companionship, and positive impact of adoption. The second piece featured a VHS team member speaking candidly about the shelter’s overcrowding, reinforcing the urgent need for adopters to step up.

By taking control of the creative process, we built a campaign that wasn’t just about awareness—it was about making adoption feel personal, urgent, and meaningful.
